State of the Union

The Chadwicks will be at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ this Friday, July 28th at 10PM. This is our first gig since a very successful pair of shows in Milwaukee, WI and we’re pumped to be back on home soil! We’ve got more new songs to mingle in with some classic favorites that have been absent from the set for awhile. We hope you can join us.

As usual, underwear is optional.

I’m very excited for you DB.com folks to be the very first to hear that The Chadwicks are going to be stepping it up a bit in the coming months. A big thanks to all of the wonderful folks that came out to see our trial gig at The Library Bar & Grill in Tempe back in June. Because of you, it was a huge success. Starting in August, we’ll be playing at least one Friday a month at The Library. Finally, after years of longing, The Chadwicks have a new home in Tempe.

Also, starting in September, The Chads will be playing not just one, but two Fridays a month at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale. That’s 100% more shows per month than we were previously playing there! I think. (I told myself that there would be no math and look what I gone and done.)

In Shirley’s Temple news, I’m back playing with the ladies as often as I can (read: as often as they’ll have me). The sad news is that with all of the new Chadwicks dates being booked, I won’t be able to grace the stage with The Temple as often as I’d like to. The good news is that with their schedule the way it is, I’ll be jamming with them at least every other Thursday at CK’s in Ahwatukee. Yeah, Thursdays! Yeah, band! But do not fret DB.com fans, because Liz has been brushing off her soloing chops for when I’m not around. I refuse to let her continue to get by on her good looks, sultry voice and silky smooth rhythm playing. We’re cracking the whip to get her to unleash her inner Jimmy Page.

As for the world of grunge rock, after a bit of a hiatus, The Flannels will be rocking again on Friday, Aug. 11th at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale. Just when we were all set to take Tucson by storm, the club we were booked at closed it’s doors. However, I’m confident that we’ll be back playing again in the town down under very soon as well.

Finally, in regards to Rock Star 101, all systems are not go and RS101 is unfortunately DOA. At least for now. After teasing the DB.com masses about a new project centered around live rock and roll karaoke that would feature you on vocals and yours truly on guitar, everything fell apart. Quite simply, the club changed it’s mind about what night of the week it wanted to host the band. When the new night was proposed, all the players that were currently involved experienced massive brain hemorrhaging as they watched their respective schedules crash together and fall into a million tiny pieces. I guess it’s all for the best right now anyway, because the club wanted to call it K-Rock instead of Rock Star 101, which is the moniker that I dubbed it. Fuck that noise.

That’s all for now. If you actually read this far then give yourself a gold star. Thanks one and all for your support.

Goodbye TLBKG.

You were my best friend, my angel, my little lion.

You will be dearly missed.
